Hello there and welcome to my Summitcaching website
I am so amazed at the number of finds of my caches that I have published this website and I've included League Tables to create an element of competition. One point will be awarded for each registered find per year. I may re-hide some caches so that they can be re-found.
These caches were originally for Radio Amateurs, who are taking part in the "Summits on the Air" programme. This activity is independent of and not an official part of the SOTA programme.
All the Summits in Britain are catalogued and Radio Hams "activate" them by transmitting from the summits. Radio Hams can now obtain credit for finding them as official Geocaches. In fact all geocachers are very welcome to find them.
As they are hidden on mountain tops they will be of interest to geocachers who are fell walkers. Some are easy, some are hard, especially under Winter conditions and bad weather.
The cache, which is very basic, consists of a plastic box with a logbook, pen and qsl card. (greetings card sent by Radio Hams)
On the summits where I am unable to place a geocache, I have registered a WAYMARK (www.waymarking.com). These will also be included in the league table.
